The promise

Room to create, with nothing in the way

  • No ads, ever. Nothing interrupts a creative idea.
  • Never lose a drawing. Every stroke saves itself.
  • Pay once, only if you want more. Every tool is free.
For grown-ups

For parents and teachers

Pixel Puppets is designed for children aged 8 to 12. There are no accounts and nothing to sign in to, and nothing leaves the device: every puppet is saved only where it was made, and the app sends nothing anywhere. Purchases, links out of the app, and saving or sharing a picture all sit behind a grown-ups question, so children never see a price.

In the studio

Draw it, dress it, make it move

Draw
A pixel canvas in 16×16 or 32×32, and the big 64×64 in the full studio. Pencil, rubber, fill, line, box and mirror, custom colours, and undo and redo always in reach.
Layers
Up to 8 layers, so the body, the outfit and the extras stay separate.
Animate
Up to 60 frames, played back straight away, and up to 12 animations for each puppet. Onion skin shows the last frame faintly, so movement is easy to get right.
Stamps
Stamps for hats, outfits, pets and props, colouring pages for quick wins, and Surprise me!, which starts a new puppet with a surprise name and outline. Any drawing can be saved as a stamp of its own.
Save
Pictures (PNG), animated GIFs and posters of every frame, crisp and sharp, saved or shared by a grown-up.
Devices
iPhone, iPad, Android phones and Android tablets, in any orientation.
