About the App
SpellStar makes spelling practice fun and effective. Aligned with the Department for Education statutory word lists, it covers the full UK primary curriculum from Reception to Year 6. Children practise their weekly spelling words through engaging game modes that build confidence and retention.
Import spelling lists by taking a photo, typing them in, sharing a code, or scanning a QR. Teachers can manage classroom lists, and parents can track progress — all without any data leaving the device.

Privacy
SpellStar stores all data locally on the device. No cloud, no external APIs, no tracking, no analytics. The app is designed to be compliant with COPPA and the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code). Only a child's first name, school year, learning progress, and a hashed PIN are stored — and none of it ever leaves the device.
