Sudoku Through Time: Privacy Policy

Overview

Sudoku Through Time is private by design. There are no adverts, no tracking, no analytics and no accounts. We built the app so your puzzles and your data never need to leave your device.

What We Collect

Nothing, in the ordinary sense. There is no account system, and no gameplay data, statistics or personal information is ever sent to us or to anyone else. Your puzzles, progress, streaks, profiles, characters and settings are stored only on your device.

Purchases

The optional one time Premium Unlock is processed by Apple or Google. The app uses RevenueCat, a purchase management service, which receives an anonymous identifier and transaction information from the app store. This is used solely to deliver and restore your purchase. It is not linked to your identity by us, and it is never used for advertising or tracking.

Camera

The camera is used only if you choose to scan a printed puzzle or a friend's QR code. All processing happens on your phone. Photos are never uploaded, and are discarded once the puzzle has been imported.

Sharing

Share codes, links and QR codes contain only what is visible in them: the puzzle, your chosen profile name, your character and, for results, your time. Sharing happens through your phone's own share sheet, at your instigation; nothing is shared automatically.

Notifications

Notifications are optional and off by default. When you turn them on, they are scheduled entirely on your device.

Backups and Your Data

Rolling backups are kept on your device. Settings offers a full export as a single file, and import on a new phone. Deleting the app deletes all locally stored data.

Children's Privacy

Sudoku Through Time is suitable for all ages. No personal information is collected from anyone, including children.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights over any personal data held about you: to be informed, to access it, to have it corrected or erased, and to object to how it is used. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is normally nothing for us to provide or erase. Purchase records are held by Apple or Google, not by us.
