Ottermouth privacy policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Who we are. Ottermouth is made by Lydex Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17117278). We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number ZC112933). You can contact us at ed@lydexsolutions.co.uk.

Our promise. Ottermouth does not collect any information about you. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no adverts, no analytics, no tracking and no crash reporting. We never see what you do in any of the games.

What stays on your device. Your progress in each game (the puzzles you have finished and sealed, your daily puzzle ticks and any puzzle in progress), your settings and a note of which games you have unlocked are stored only on your phone or tablet. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them. You can also clear your progress at any time in Settings, Reset progress, for one game or for everything.

Purchases. If you unlock a game, the whole valley or the rest of the valley, Apple or Google takes the payment and handles it under their own privacy policies. The app asks the App Store or Google Play which unlocks this device's account owns, so it can open those games and restore them if you reinstall. No names, email addresses or payment details reach us.

Age checks required by some US states. Where a law such as Texas's App Store Accountability Act applies, the app may ask the App Store or Google Play for the age range they hold for the account, so that purchases needing a parent's approval are handled properly. The app uses that answer only while it is open. It is never stored and never sent to us.

Children. Ottermouth is made for a general audience and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Sharing cards. If you choose to share a card, the app makes a picture on your device and hands it to your phone's own share sheet. Nothing about you is on the card, and we never see where you send it. On iPhone and iPad, if you choose "Save to Photos", the app asks for permission to add pictures to your library only; it cannot see your photos.

Links. Links in Settings open our website or the App Store or Google Play. Our website uses no analytics, no tracking cookies and no third-party scripts.

Changes. If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and the date above. We will never start collecting data without changing the app's privacy label in the store first.
